The restaurant stands out through its diverse menu, which includes a range of thoughtfully prepared dishes like slow-cooked ramen varieties, chicken and pork katsu, and an extensive yakitori selection featuring options from chicken hearts to prime beef and even lobster tail. For diners hesitant about sushi, there are ample alternatives such as seiro mushi (steamed boxes) and ramen that reflect authentic Japanese techniques and flavors rarely found in the local scene.

Had the beef steam boxes in japan 20 yrs ago but few Japanese restaurants in US offer seiro mushi dishes. They also have yakitori, noodles, etc menu in addition to sushi. For someone loves Japanese food but doesn’t like sushi this is perfect.

I’m really glad I gave this restaurant a second chance! I went on their grand opening and while the food was good, the service was horrible. I wanted to give them a second chance as I know the first day can be hectic, I’m glad I did! The service was great and the food was delicious. Their edamame with garlic butter was was warm and has the right amount of flavor. The Chasu Buns were flavorful and the pork was cooked perfectly.. easily my favorite meal. I enjoyed the tempura and the skewers were just okay, the chicken was cooked well with a nice char but the steak was a little over cooked. Not super flavorful but I still enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to going back for some sushi! All of this plus two drinks ran us about $75.

We are here on their first day open and it was so delicious!! The staff is super attentive and friendly. Although their menu was limited, there were a good number of options. My favorite was the Ebi Mao and the Chicken Katsu. Our friends loved the chicken Karage (very moist inside). The inside of the restaurant was very beautiful. Prices were very reasonable. I would definitely come back!! Highly recommend!!

I ordered the "small" grill set and a few other menu items, like the uni for a late lunch. Overall food was ok. I do think the small grill is a tad too small for a full meal. Ambience was good and service was also good. For take out, I ordered the chicken katsu which my son loved. Will definitely be back to try more items from the menu.

Thought the food was delicious and unique, but a bit steep for the price. The seiro mushi was delicious especially with all the sauces it came with. The small BBQ was not really worth it considering the grill was tiny and fuming in your face. For the price, you can almost pay for 2 AYCE kbbqs.

We came at 4:30 pm for dinner during the soft opening. The smaller menu offers enough varieties to sample the various specialties. We ordered the sashimi combo, deep fried chicken, dragon roll, skewers of beef tongue, unagi, and prime beef, hot tea and cold sake in a glass jar. Both food and service were excellent. We will definitely return.

Enjoyed our dinner at Mao in Dublin. Sashimi was very fresh one GREAT quality! But the staff was so friendly and helpful. Was told by another customer that there mushroom ramen is to die for. We had California roll, 49er roll and spicy salmon roll. Will be back and get more adventurous with our order! Great atmosphere, food and staff!!!
